Privacy policy

The short version

Emery Studio collects the minimum needed to respond to you and improve this site: what you type into forms, your email when you ask for something by email, and anonymous usage analytics. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared for advertising. Ever.

What gets collected, and when

Contact form: your name, email, and whatever you write. It arrives as an email to us and is kept as ordinary business correspondence.

Free site check: the URL you enter is sent to Google PageSpeed Insights to generate your report. If you enter your email to unlock the findings, we keep that email, send you a copy of your results, and follow up with a few short notes about what the scores mean. Every one of those emails includes a way to opt out, and opting out is honored promptly.

Newsletter: your email, used only to send the newsletter. Unsubscribe anytime with one click.

Analytics: anonymous usage data (pages visited, buttons clicked, rough traffic source) collected through PostHog to understand what on the site works. This uses browser storage to tell visitors apart; it is not used to identify you personally, and we do not run advertising trackers.

Who processes it

A few well-known services process data on our behalf: Vercel (site hosting), Resend (sending and managing email), PostHog (analytics), and Google PageSpeed Insights (running the free site check). Some of these providers store data in the United States. Each is bound by its own privacy terms, and none receives more than it needs to do its job.

How long it is kept

Emails and correspondence are kept for as long as they are useful as business records. Newsletter and follow-up email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal. Analytics data is kept in aggregate.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion at any time. Email hello@workwithemery.com and it will be handled directly by the person responsible for privacy here (Josh Hanson, founder). Unsubscribe links and reply-to-opt-out both work, and opt-outs are processed within ten days at most, usually much faster.
